Rev. Fredrick Swaroop Honig, AKA Swami Swaroopananda, is a Nature Guardian, a leading exponent of Plant Based Nutrition and of Nada Yoga, the Science of Meditation. Swaroop was ordained in 1977 by the acclaimed Integral Yoga Master and Ecumenical leader, Sri Swami Satchidananda who was ordained in 1949 by the renowned Sri Swami Sivananda, founder of The Divine Life Society and The All-World Religions Federation.
For twenty years, starting at age 21, Swaroop lived, studied, taught and served as a monastic member of Satchidananda Ashrams and Integral Yoga Institutes. During this period he played key roles in Inter-faith programs and in the design and construction of The Light Of Truth Universal Shrine, LOTUS.
Since 1994, Swaroop has served in the foundation The Spirit of Aloha Temple, Botanical Gardens and Bird Sanctuary on the north shore of Maui. The Gardens are dedicated to living in harmony with Nature, through alignment with its 12 Organizing Principles. The Gardens are a living classroom for sustainable organic horticulture and delicious plant based nutrition. To tour The Gardens is to experience a deeper appreciation and understanding of Nature, and experience being in Heaven on Earth.
