Earthlings is an explicit, unblinking look at the atrocities and callousness of the animal exploitation industry. The film consists largely of undercover footage from factory farms, slaughterhouses, fur farms, vivisection labs, circuses, and other institutions in which non-human animals are treated as commodities, objects, and machines. The footage is graphic, but the film should be seen by everyone who regards eating hamburgers or wearing leather boots as victimless crimes.
Cowspiracy is a powerful documentary that examines the global environmental devastation for which animal agriculture is responsible and implicates the large environmental organizations, such as Greenpeace and the Sierra Club, who have so far refused to acknowledge the role played by animal agriculture in man-made climate change, deforestation, water scarcity, and a host of other environmental exigencies.
Forks Over Knives explores the connection between a meat-centered, Western diet and the so-called “diseases of affluence”, such as coronary heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, obesity, and certain cancers, and chronicles the treatment of several real-life patients whose chronic illnesses were treated with a whole-foods, plant-based diet.
Inspired by Morgan Spurlock’s Super Size Me, but with an entirely different modus operandi, the award-winning documentary Veducated follows three New Yorkers who are avowed omnivores for six weeks, during which they agree to adhere to a strict vegan diet. The film documents not only their trials and travails as they adapt to a new and unfamiliar life-style, but also shows their personal transformations as they see first-hand how farm animals are raised, and discover the connection between a meat-centered diet and the most urgent environmental crises of our time.

This remarkable and critically-acclaimed film has opened the eyes of many to both the folly and the danger of keeping orcas in captivity and shows that it is often not just the whales who pay the price for it.
