Head of Landscaping & Jungle Taming in Haiku, Maui: 

Live/Work Opportunity

Seeking a dedicated team member to be in service of our mission and to live with us on our 11 acre nature sanctuary with expansive ocean views and a mile of walking trails in Haiku, HI on Maui.

Help us keep our property in pristine condition for our residents and for our public tours and special events.

Skills needed include mowing, edging, trimming, cane grass removal, irrigation systems, chainsaw and ladder climbing skills, ability to regularly lift up to 70 lbs, to work up to 30 hrs per week and to be on call for emergency maintenance needs (fallen trees etc).

Experience and passion for growing vegetables and or maintaining fruit trees and other food growing on the property (breadfruit, lemons, tangerines, bananas, papayas, noni, avocados etc) is appreciated.  Gated gardens and greenhouse available for starting more vegetables and or a native tree nursery.

Our ideal candidate is already based on Maui and is comfortable with life in the jungle.

You must be in full alignment with our nature guardian values, able to manage a small team of volunteers, and live a simple, close to nature lifestyle dedicated to being in service. We are looking for someone to join our team and family long term but ask for a minimum commitment of 12 months of service with 60 days notice of leave and a willingness to train your replacement.

This role includes the opportunity to stay in a cottage at our beautiful sanctuary so you can be an integral part of our Ohana (family).
